This is exciting! My first post of many to come, so I thought I would start with something practical and useful, but no doubt I will natter on so much it will take me a while to get to the point! Oh well, you could just skip to it or alternatively listen to the thoughts of a thirteen year old girl about to embark on a rather daunting adventure. The choice is yours!
I think that it is time to introduce you to 'Team Pennine Way'. We are a family of determined walkers who, with a bit of good weather, lovely comments and inspirational messages (hint hint!), and good gear, will complete ,the 267 mile Pennine Way. First up it is me.....
Name: Caitlin
Role: Team Leader
Biography: Hi, as you probably know my name is Caitlin (if you don't know that then where have you been?!) I am an an eager walker, but not really sure how I am going to manage 3 weeks with only 1 change of, lets be frank, shapeless walking clothes! I am looking forward to completing the walk and raising money for a great cause!
Name: Sherpa Dad
Role: Sherpa and Navigator (although the route is fairly obvious)
Biography: This is Sherpa Dad. He carries all of mine and Mam's gear, as well as a bit of his own. He scouts ahead, navigating the way on his silly SatMap boys toy. He has downloaded all the Pennine Way maps, bought every book possible and done a lot of research; some people would say he was organised! Sometimes he takes us on a TT, Thomas Traverse, where he says he knows where he is going, but clearly doesn't!He is on a strict diet of roast chicken crisps and red wine for the Pennine Way!

Name: Organiser Mam
Role: General Organiser
Biography: Meet Organiser Mam! She keeps Me and Sherpa Dad in check, and is always on hand to tell Dad off when he takes us on a TT! Mam makes sure we are up and ready to leave at the designated time. She also loves the fourth member of our team, particularly his velvety ears!
Name: Paddy
Role: Team Morale
Biography: This is Paddy, or Pads, the black Labrador crossed with a Collie. Uncle John has been taking Paddy for long walks and swims in the River Tees, and is fighting fit and raring to go! He runs back and forth and is very fond of playing fetch but hasn't quite worked out how to drop the stick afterwards! He is a brilliant dog, and keeps the teams morale up, even in the rain!
